Our
law firm specializes in immigration law and everything related to it. We
assist both individuals and businesses with questions and legal matters
in this field.
Do you have a question? Feel free to send us an email – we’re happy to think along with you!
Why choose a law firm specialized in immigration law?
Immigration
rules are changing rapidly and becoming increasingly complex. That’s
why it’s important to be assisted by a lawyer who is fully up to date in
this area of law.
Our law firm is fully specialized in immigration law. Our knowledge is
current, and we closely follow legal developments. Do you have legal
issues beyond immigration law? We’re happy to connect you with a
reliable specialist from our trusted network. We regularly collaborate
with experienced lawyers in other areas of law.
Subsidized legal aid
We are a recognized high trust law firm by the Legal Aid Board. This
means we can provide services based on government-funded legal aid. Our
lawyers are also members of the Netherlands Bar Association.
Not sure if you qualify for legal aid? Please refer to the website of the Legal Aid Board to see if you qualify for legal aid.
We
primarily communicate via email. You can easily submit your question by
email, preferably with relevant documents attached as PDFs. We will
review your case and then contact you for a short, free initial
consultation.
Would you prefer an in-person introductory meeting at our office? That’s
also possible, but by appointment only. Please email us to schedule a meeting.
For a meeting of up to 30 minutes, we charge a fixed fee of €50, including VAT.
This amount must be paid in advance.
If a case file is opened within four weeks, this fee will be deducted
from your first invoice – even if you qualify for subsidized legal aid.
Honest advice and transparent costs
Whether you contact us by email or come in for an appointment, you’ll
always receive clear advice about your situation, your legal options,
and the associated costs.
At Law firm Kleijweg, we believe that good legal support should be
accessible to everyone. Cost should never be a barrier to getting advice
from a specialized lawyer.
The office is accessible by public transport. The office is within walking distance from The Hague Central Station.
Tram line 9, direction Madurodam, direction Scheveningen Noorderstrand stops near our office.
The tram stop is called 'Dr. Kuyperstraat'.
Rates
Our firm applies the following standard hourly rates:
• Private clients: €215 per hour, excluding 21% VAT
• Business clients: €265 per hour, excluding 21% VAT
Subsidized Legal Aid
Where possible, we also work on the basis of subsidized legal aid. If your income falls below the statutory threshold, you may qualify for this assistance. This also applies if you live abroad but have a case that falls under Dutch jurisdiction.
For individuals with an income below 90% of the minimum subsistence level, exemption from the personal contribution is often possible. In such cases, our services can be provided free of charge.
In short: there’s no reason not to make use of specialized legal assistance.
Additional Costs and Custom Fee Arrangements
If you do not qualify for subsidized legal aid, a fee arrangement will be made in consultation with your lawyer. This will depend on the type of case, the work involved, and your personal circumstances.
If your case goes to court — for example, before the District Court or the Council of State — you may be required to pay court fees (griffierecht). More information is available at www.rechtspraak.nl. Your lawyer will inform you in advance if this applies.
Exemption from court fees may also be possible for individuals with an income below 90% of the minimum subsistence level. We will of course assist you in applying for this exemption.
Clarity About Costs
We understand your main concern is: What will this cost me?
That’s why we aim to be fully transparent.
You will receive a clear quote in advance, so you know exactly what to expect — no surprises afterward. Our fees are transparent and tailored to your specific needs and situation.
In a no-obligation consultation, we’ll assess your case and provide an appropriate price estimate.
Do you have questions or want an initial indication of the cost? Feel free to send us an email.
